The most basic means of Movement in combat is Moving. Moving is the process in which a character moves forward at a run in any direction they choose, up to their maximum Moving Speed as a Move Action. When determining a character's Moving Speed, an important rule of thumb is that 5ft ingame translates to 1 square by map.

Moving Speed[]

An individual's Moving Speed can be determined using the following formulas:

Moving Speed (ft) = 20 + (Character's Agility bonus x 5) + Miscellaneous Modifiers (ft)

Moving Speed (sq) = 4 + (Character's Agility bonus) + Miscellaneous Modifiers (sq)

Moving through Threatened Squares[]

When Moving through a square that is within a hostile entity's melee attack range, that Movement provokes an Attack of Opportunity from the hostile entity. This Attack of Opportunity can be negated through the Tumble aspect of the Acrobatics Skill, with a DC equal to the Threatened entity's Reflex Defense.

Running[]

When a character spends a Full-Round Action to Run, that character moves at three times their Moving Speed in a straight line, effectively using their entire turn to move at maximum speed. A character can Run a number of times per encounter equal to their Constitution modifier (Minimum once per encounter).
